Your responsibilities
• Conducting analysis and providing reports for all purchased and exported coffee.
• Monitoring coffee quality during processing.
• Preparation and dispatch of all samples (approvals, stock lot, type, shipments, pre-shipment, and offer samples) and updating the status in the records.
• Supervising loading and offloading processes.
• Maintaining records of all quality activities (export, storage, and purchase)
• Conduct cupping, report findings and document results.
• Inspecting export containers and coffee before loading.
• Providing quality advice where necessary and explaining quality terms to clients.
• Ensuring that the company produces coffee to the UCDA set standards and that all other quality requirements are met.
• Understanding clients’ needs and ensuring their quality requirements are met.
• Training new staff and interns on coffee quality fundamentals.
Your profile
• Bachelor’s Degree: Preferably in Food Science, Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Economics, Horticulture or a related field.
• At least 2-3 years of experience in quality control, preferably in the coffee processing industry.
• Experience with coffee quality assessment, grading, and certification processes is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with coffee grading standards and quality control procedures.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate coffee quality and identify defects.
• Experience in developing and executing work plans and schedules.
• High attention to detail to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Ability to document and track quality metrics accurately.
• Ability to identify quality issues and develop effective solutions.
• Passionate about coffee and committed to maintaining high-quality standards.
• Willingness to travel to various locations, including suppliers and production facilities, as needed.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
