Role Overview:
The Geologist conducts field-based investigations to discover and evaluate mineral deposits. This role supports UNMC’s exploration efforts by providing geological insights and data to inform mining strategies.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Plan and conduct geological surveys to identify potential mineral deposits.

  • Collect and analyze rock and soil samples in the field and laboratory.

  • Produce geological maps and exploration reports to guide mining operations.

  • Work closely with drilling and resource teams to assess deposit viability.

  • Support geologists in field exploration activities, including sample collection and preparation.

  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards during field activities.

  • Contribute to data interpretation and prospect generation for exploration projects.


Qualifications and Experience:



  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or a related field from a recognized institution.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mineral exploration or geological fieldwork.

  • Field mapping and sampling proficiency.

  • Registered member of a recognized professional Geo-sciences body (preferred).


Competencies and Skills:



  • Strong observational and analytical skills.

  • Fieldwork endurance and adaptability.

  • Proficiency in geological software for mapping and analysis.

  • Collaboration and communication with technical teams.
