Position Overview


Heritage International School is seeking a Temporary HR Generalist to support our Human Resources Department in delivering smooth, efficient, and Christ-centered HR services. This full-time position is primarily administrative and relational, focused on onboarding, record-keeping, employee support, and assisting with recruitment and immigration documentation.


This is a temporary role to cover leave. The HR Generalist will work closely with the HR Manager and will not be responsible for handling confidential salary matters, contract negotiations, or sensitive disciplinary actions, which will be escalated to the HR Manager or Immigration Liaison.

Key Responsibilities


Recruitment and Onboarding Support



  • Assist with drafting and posting job advertisements.

  • Communicate with candidates: schedule interviews, request references, and gather documents.

  • Conduct background and reference checks as needed.

  • Support onboarding: prepare IDs, enroll staff in biometric systems and medical insurance.

  • Coordinate arrival logistics for new hires (transportation, housing, utilities setup).

  • Provide basic orientation for new staff (e.g., Yaka usage, internet setup, garbage services).


HR Administration



  • Maintain and update employee records in BambooHR and hard files.

  • Track certifications, work permits, interpol letters, and contract dates.

  • Maintain accurate leave and probation records.

  • Prepare and issue standard employment-related letters upon request.


Immigration and Compliance Assistance



  • Assist the Administrative/Immigration Officer in collecting and organizing immigration documents.

  • Prepare and submit NSSF and TIN applications for eligible employees.

  • Monitor staff documentation for compliance and escalate complex matters appropriately.


Employee Support and Relations



  • Serve as the first point of contact for basic HR queries (onboarding, leave, benefits).

  • Escalate sensitive concerns to the HR Manager.

  • Support informal conflict resolution under HR Manager guidance.

  • Maintain a professional, service-oriented relationship with employees.


Other Duties



  • Attend and contribute to Office Team and HR meetings.

  • Assist with organizing social committee activities to promote a positive workplace culture.

  • Support staff activities and school events as directed.

  • Perform other duties assigned by the HR Manager to meet operational needs.


Confidentiality and Boundaries


The HR Generalist is expected to uphold strict confidentiality. Matters related to salaries, terminations, formal disciplinary actions, and contract negotiations will be handled exclusively by the HR Manager.
