Job Description Hotel Manager


We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Hotel Manager to oversee the daily operations of our hotel in Entebbe, Uganda. The ideal candidate will ensure exceptional guest experiences, manage staff effectively, and drive profitability while maintaining high standards of service and compliance with all regulations.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Guest Experience: Ensure guests receive outstanding service throughout their stay, addressing any concerns promptly to maintain high satisfaction levels.​

  • Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise hotel staff across various departments, fostering a positive work environment and ensuring team efficiency.​

  • Operational Oversight: Oversee daily hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and food and beverages services, ensuring all departments function smoothly.​

  • Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and implement cost-control measures to achieve profitability targets.​

  • Marketing and Sales: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop strategies that promote the hotel’s services and increase occupancy rates.​

  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure the hotel complies with all health, safety, and legal regulations, maintaining a safe environment for guests and staff.​

  • Facility Maintenance: Regularly inspect hotel facilities to ensure they meet established standards and coordinate necessary maintenance and repairs.​


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.​

  • Proven experience as a Hotel Manager or in a similar managerial role within the hospitality industry.​

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.​

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.​

  • Proficient in hotel management software and Microsoft Office Suite.​

  • Strong financial acumen and experience in budgeting and financial reporting.​


Preferred Skills:



  • Multilingual abilities to communicate effectively with a diverse clientele.​

  • Familiarity with local tourism trends and customer preferences.​

  • Experience in implementing sustainable and eco-friendly hotel practices.​

  • Proficiency in key managerial competencies

  • Professionalism and ethical conduct


Working Conditions:



  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.​

  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and resolve conflicts effectively.​
