Role Overview:
The Clinical Officer provides primary healthcare services within municipal health facilities, diagnosing and treating patients, and referring complex cases to higher-level facilities. This role also involves community health outreach and supporting public health programs in Mityana Municipality.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Diagnose and treat common illnesses and injuries at health facilities.

  • Refer patients requiring advanced care to district hospitals or specialists.

  • Participate in community health outreach programs, including immunization and health education.

  • Maintain accurate patient records and report on health activities.

  • Supervise and mentor junior health staff, such as enrolled nurses.

  • Ensure proper management of medical supplies and equipment.

  • Support the implementation of national health programs (e.g., malaria control, HIV/AIDS prevention).


Qualifications and Experience:



  • A Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health from a recognized institution.

  • Must be registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council of Uganda and hold a valid practicing license.

  • At least 2 years of experience in clinical practice, preferably in a public health setting.

  • Knowledge of Uganda’s primary healthcare system and guidelines.

  • Good interpersonal and patient care skills.

  • Communication and counseling.

  • Ethics and professionalism in healthcare.

  • Teamwork and adaptability.
