Role Overview:
The Office Typist provides clerical and administrative support within the district offices, ensuring efficient record-keeping and documentation. This role involves typing, filing, and managing office correspondence under the supervision of a senior officer, typically in the administration department.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Type letters, reports, minutes, and other official documents as assigned.

  • File and retrieve documents, ensuring proper organization and confidentiality.

  • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails and physical mail.

  • Maintain office records and ensure secure storage of documents.

  • Assist in data entry and basic office administration tasks.

  • Provide support during meetings by taking minutes or preparing materials.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.


Qualifications and Experience:



  • A Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least 5 passes, including credits in English and Mathematics.

  • A Diploma in Office Management, Secretarial Studies, or a related field from a recognized institution.

  • Alternatively, a UCE with at least 3 years of experience at the level of Office Supervisor in a public or reputable private organization.

  • Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel).

  • Good communication and organizational skills.

  • Time management and multitasking.

  • Concern for quality and standards.
