DEPARTMENT: INTERNAL AUDIT


REPORTS TO: MANAGER AUDITOR


Main Purpose of the Job


Independently and objectively assess risks, evaluate internal controls, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, mitigate risks, and ensure adherence to governance standards across the bank.


Responsibilities



  1. Conduct compliance audits to ensure conformity with laws, standards, guidelines, and the approved audit plan.

  2. Ensure completion of assigned/planned audit engagements from start to finish, including preplanning, fieldwork, and wrap-up activities.

  3. maintain the confidentiality of information received and not disclose it without clear authority, except in accordance with the Bank’s policy regarding the provision of information/data/documents to external parties.

  4. Discuss audit findings and recommendations with the Manager Internal Audit by identifying and communicating control issues noted, offering practical solutions relevant to business and related risks

  5. Collaborate & cooperate with other departments to ensure professional responsibilities are fulfilled in an efficient manner, with due regard for the activities of those departments.

  6. Organize and reference work papers for review by the Manager Internal Audit.

  7. Assist in the preparation of the initial draft for internal audit reports, facilitating discussions with process owners to develop action plans.

  8. Execute audit work programs for new assignments and improve existing working papers based on changing risks, regulatory environment, and industry.

  9. Execute audits of specific target areas identified from the overall risk assessment in consultation with the Manager Internal Audit to ensure a quality audit approach, achievement of set audit objectives, and completion within the agreed schedule.

  10. Prepare and submit timely quality audit reports for the Manager Internal Audit review.

  11. Perform audit tests and prepare working papers in accordance with professional IIA standards and IA methodology.

  12. Demonstrate high professional objectivity in collecting, evaluating, and communicating information regarding the activity or process being audited.

  13. Work closely with various departments to gather necessary information, explain audit procedures, and provide feedback on audit findings.

  14. Comply with AML/CFT/CPF policies and procedures, non -compliance of which shall be addressed as per the bank disciplinary processes.


  1. Any other duty as shall be assigned to you from time to time.


Person Specification (Education, training, skills and experience)


Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.


Experience



  • A minimum of 2 years of working experience, preferably in a financial institution.

  • A strong understanding of banking processes and operations.

  • Proficiency in drafting professional reports.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Strategic and dynamic thinking.

  • Stakeholder and Relationship Management skills

  • High ethical standards and integrity.

  • neutrality and independence of judgment
